One of the greatest things about homeschool is that we can do projects that wouldn't happen in public school. When Ashley got to the section on rocket engines in her science textbook, it was time for hands-on experience--Rocket Day.
Jesse happily accepted the assignment to pick out the rocket and engines at the store. The next nice Saturday we had, we went to our old elementary school and set up a launch pad in the middle of the huge playground field.
Jesse got to launch first. The girls didn't know exactly what to expect, and were amazed when the little rocket shot up into the sky a couple hundred feet. For the next launches, they set up in the outfield, ready to catch the awesome rocket.
We each had a turn to launch, and had a blast. (pardon the pun!)
We love homeschool!
