Mother's Day Song

The best part of the Mother's Day sacrament meeting, for me, is when the Primary children sing. It is even more enjoyable seeing my own children sing.

This year, my children provided comic relief. (Well, not as good as the Primary program when Miss M sat in a row of chairs in front of the podium and lifted her skirt up and flashed everyone...but close....)

Miss M went up under extreme protest, saying she had only sung the songs one week in Primary...which excuse lost a lot of credibility when Miss A mentioned that it was that way for all the kids. So up she went, anyway.

As the children filed up and took their places, we saw that Miss A met up with her best friend. Being the 11 year-olds in Primary, they stood behind everyone but in plain view. Miss M found her friends and made sure she was behind them. Literally. We could see her jockeying to make sure no one could see her.

The music started, and the children started singing. Miss M continued to make sure no one could see her, and Miss A and her friend sang like the good kids they are. However, in both their faces you could see them counting down how many days until they graduate from Primary. (Too many, in their minds, lol.)

This ordeal over, they both returned to their seats. My husband leaned over to me and said, "This is the last year you will see Miss A sing for you, and maybe by the time Miss M is 12 she will sing for you for the first time."
